About the publication
Farne Almanac was founded in London with a single editorial orientation: to document, clearly and without commercial attachment, what the published evidence says about eating patterns, dietary frameworks, and the long-term consequences of restriction.
Farne Almanac — London editorial office
Editorial statement
Farne Almanac is an independent editorial publication. It is not affiliated with any wellness brand, nutrition product company, or commercial interest. It does not sell anything, endorse specific products, or accept paid editorial placement. Every article published here is the original work of the named author, written under our editorial guidelines.
The publication was founded on the observation that most publicly available writing on diet and weight management occupies two registers: the commercial register of product marketing, and the academic register of peer-reviewed research. The space between them — readable, evidence-informed, independent — is narrower than it should be. Farne Almanac occupies that space.
Our focus is on the structural and psychological dimensions of eating behaviour, with particular attention to the long-term consequences of dietary restriction and the features of eating patterns that appear, in the evidence, to be associated with lasting stability. We do not produce food plans, calorie guides, or eating schedules. We produce editorial writing.

Editorial principles
No article at Farne Almanac is written to support the sale of a product or service. Writers disclose any relevant associations at submission. Undisclosed commercial relationships result in immediate withdrawal of the article.
Claims that draw on published research include a reference to that research. We do not cite research that we have not read and assessed. Paraphrased findings are distinguished from direct citations.
Every article undergoes review by a second editor before it is published. This review addresses factual accuracy, vocabulary compliance, and alignment with our editorial standards. The reviewer's name is recorded internally.
Where an article is found to contain an error after publication, the correction is noted in the article itself, with a date. Articles are not silently amended. The original text is archived alongside the corrected version.
